  18. How to install ReminderPro 3.3

  21. 1.        Open the folder called "Application". Copy the file called "ReminderPro"
  22.              to your hard disk. This is the ReminderPro application.
  23. 2.        Open the folder called "System Extension". Copy the file called
  24.              "ReminderPro INIT" from this folder into the Extensions folder. The
  25.              Extensions folder is a folder called "Extensions" inside the System folder.
  26.        REMOVE ANY OLDER VERSIONS OF THE REMINDERPRO EXTENSIONS FROM
  27.        THIS EXTENSIONS FOLDER
  28. 3.        If the version of system software on your computer supports the control
  29.              strip, you can use the ReminderPro control strip module. To use this,
  30.              open the folder called "Control Strip Module". Copy the file called
  31.              "ReminderPro CSM" from this folder into the Control Strip Modules
  32.              folder. The Control Strip Modules folder is a folder called
  33.              "Control Strip Modules" inside the System folder.
  34. 3.        Restart your Macintosh.

  37. How to upgrade from previous registered versions (2.0.2 and earlier)
  38. -------------------------------------------------------------

  40. 1.        Install ReminderPro 3.3 as described above.
  41. 2.        Follow the registration process which is described below.
  42. 3.        Transfer your reminders scheduled with the earlier version to the new version.
  43.        This can be done by holding down the option key, pulling down the
  44.              Miscellaneous menu and selecting "Transfer reminders from older versionsﾉ".
  45. 4.        Delete the older version by deleting the following:
  46.              - The older application
  47.              - The older system extension called "ReminderProｪ Scheduler". This is inside the
  48.                 Extensions folder.
  49.              - The folder called "ReminderProｪ ﾄ" which is inside the Preferences folder. Note
  50.                 that the folder name contains the "ｪ" symbol. You will also see a folder called
  51.                 "ReminderPro ﾄ" which is created by 3.3. You should NOT delete this.

  54. How to register your copy of ReminderPro
  55. ---------------------------------------------------------

  57. 1.        Launch ReminderPro.
  58. 2.        Select "Print Registration Informationﾉ" from the "File" menu.
  59. 3.        Fill in the requested information. You must supply a name, and either a postal
  60.              address or an email address. If you are a registered user of an older version
  61.              of ReminderPro, check the upgrade button.
  62. 4.        Print the information by clicking on the "Print" button.
  63. 5.        Send the printed information, along with a check for US $18 (payable to Crystal
  64.              Software, Inc.) to the following address:

  66.                             P.O.Box 37153
  67.                             Raleigh, NC 27627
  68.                             USA.
  69.              If you are upgrading from an older version (2.0.2 or earlier),
  70.        you need to send only US $3.
  71. 6.        Upon receipt of this information, Crystal will send you an access code,
  72.              either by postal mail or by electronic mail using the address you provide.
  73. 7.        When you receive the access code, you need to enter it into ReminderPro,
  74.              in order to complete the registration process.
  75. 8.        To enter the access code, launch ReminderPro.
  76. 9.        Select "Enter Access Codeﾉ" from the "File" menu.
  77. 10.    Enter the access code you received from Crystal.
  78. 11.    Your registration is complete.

  80. NOTE: Registered users of versions 3.0 - 3.2.1 can simply use the same
  81. access code for version 3.3 since the upgrade is free.

  84. How to move ReminderPro to another computer
  85. ---------------------------------------------------------
  86.  
  87. You may need to move ReminderPro to another computer, for example, if
  88. you sell your first computer and buy a new one. You may have reminders
  89. scheduled already and would want to preserve that data. Simply transfering
  90. your copy of the ReminderPro application, the extension and the control
  91. strip module will not help.

  93. Open the "Preferences" folder on your original computer. The Preferences
  94. folder is a folder called "Preferences" inside the System folder. Inside the
  95. Preferences folder is a folder called "ReminderPro ﾄ". This folder contains
  96. your scheduled items and your preferences. You need to transfer this folder
  97. to the Preferences folder on the new computer.

  100. How to permanently remove ReminderPro 3.3
  101. ---------------------------------------------------------

  103. 1.        Drag the file called "ReminderPro INIT" from the Extensions folder
  104.              into the trash. The Extensions folder is a folder called "Extensions" inside the
  105.              System folder.
  106. 2.        Drag the folder called "ReminderPro ﾄ" from the Preferences folder
  107.              into the trash. The Preferences folder is a folder called "Preferences" inside the
  108.              System folder.
  109. 3.        If you have installed the ReminderPro control strip module,
  110.              drag the file called "ReminderPro CSM" from the Control Strip Modules folder
  111.              into the trash. The Control Strip Modules folder is a folder called
  112.              "Control Strip Modules" inside the System folder.
  113. 3.        Drag the ReminderPro application to the trash.
  114. 4.        Restart your Macintosh.
  115. 5.        Empty the trash.
